My Artlab from a distance

This year and possibly next My Artlab is taking time to move to Belgrade, my hometown. This is a big move but one that was necessary at this time because of new work and education opportunities for my family. As soon as the right space and fit are found My Artlab hopes to grow and develop in Belgrade too. Because My Artlab is so much connected to my personality and experience and the space I created for it, it is not possible to separate the two. Where Andjelija goes, My Artlab goes with her, it just might take time. In the meantime I hope to consistently post wonderful projects made over the many years My Artlab was active in the beloved Leslieville neighbourhood.
Just before the move to Belgrade I was thrilled to hear about first prize won by a student for a project he created at the studio from Art Canada Institute’s Canadian Art Inspiration Student Contest. Here is Max’ winning artwork in the Grades 4-6 category next to the image of an artwork Self-portrait with Galen by Greg Curnoe that inspired it.
